Mariah Stafford is a first year Master of Public Administration student at the University of Victoria with research interests relating to the intersection of human rights, Indigenous consultation and consent, and public policy. Mariah recently graduated from Simon Fraser University with a Bachelor of Arts (First Class with Distinction) in Criminology, Sociology, and Communication. During her undergraduate degree, Mariah had the opportunity to work as a Junior Policy Analyst (student) with the Government of Canada where she supported the implementation of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. As a Research Assistant with the BIG Lab, Mariah is currently working on expanding research relating to disputes of territorial sovereignty.
