Gyula Ocskay

Mr Gyula Ocskay, political philosopher and regional economist, PhD in regional studies has been involved in practical cross-border cooperation since 1999. He managed the Ister-Granum Euroregion and established the second EGTC of the European Union with the same name, at the Slovak-Hungarian border. Since 2009 he has been working for the Central European Service for Cross-Border Initiatives (CESCI) as secretary general, a think-and-do-tank of CBC based in Budapest, Hungary. He coordinates the ’foreign policy’ of the association and takes part in cross-border programming, spatial planning, and project development activities. As a senior researcher of the research group on cross-border cooperation jointly established by CESCI and Ludovika University of Public Service, he is a (co-)author of more than 60 articles, book chapters and studies. As a practitioner, he is a (co-)author of cross-border strategies, studies, evaluation documents and policy papers of a similar amount.
